GB Basketball Partner with Hytro to Advance Performance and Recovery in Elite Athletes

GB Basketball announce performance focused partnership with Hytro
9th September 2025, UK: Hytro, the leading human health and performance company known for producing the first wearable Blood Flow Restriction (BFR) garment, are proud to announce a new partnership with GB Basketball as their Official BFR Partner.
As part of the collaboration, Hytro has already worked with both the men’s and women’s programmes on dedicated research projects designed to explore the impact of wearable BFR on basketball performance and recovery.
Within the men’s programme, the study examined how Hytro BFR could be applied during warm-up to influence acute performance metrics, supporting athletes in preparing more effectively for competition. In parallel, the women’s programme investigated perceptions of benefit and ease of use among elite players, helping to shape the integration of Hytro into the unique demands of women’s basketball.
Hytro’s BFR technology is already trusted by over 300 elite teams worldwide, spanning football, rugby, NFL, NBA, Formula 1, athletics, and cycling. Beyond sport, Hytro wearables are being tested by NASA and SpaceX as part of research into maintaining muscle and bone health in zero gravity.
Dr. Warren Bradley, Founder and Head of Elite Performance at Hytro, commented:
“The more time I spend in the States, the more I see just how important BFR is for basketball athletes. Hytro is unlocking legitimate performance gains, helping athletes get stronger, recover faster, and helping protect the athlete’s joints from the nonstop jumping and cutting the game throws at them. Teaming up with GB Basketball to perform novel research has provided an exciting opportunity to scientifically underpin these performance advantages, bringing the benefits of Hytro to life on the court.”
Tom Brownlee, Chief Scientific Officer at Hytro, added:
“Basketball is a really exciting and important sport for us. The fast-paced nature coupled with the high volume of fixtures means that if we’re able to influence preparation, recovery and performance how we think we’re able to, it’s a huge win for all involved. Our work with GB Basketball has allowed us to look right across preparation, performance and recovery at the highest level. It’s also been great to work with some fantastic coaches who are ensuring the research is done to the highest standards.”
Hytro’s patented BFR wearables bring the transformative benefits of Blood Flow Restriction training to athletes in a simple, safe, and effective way. Extensively tested by sports scientists, they enable athletes and coaches to Prepare, Train and Recover to the highest standards.
