International Player Transfers and Licensing Requirements.

The following page provides the relevant forms for clubs to use in the International or Internal Transfer and Clearance of Players, as well as the British National Championship Leagues, FIBA or BBF Licensing applications.


The International Transfer & Clearance section, is to be used by all Clubs, who are licensing players to play in the British National Championship Leagues (Pro Leagues) or the National Leagues operated in England, Scotland or Wales and meet the requirements shown, as per FIBA Internal Regulations, Book 3.
Click on the link below to complete the online FIBA Player Letter of Clearance Application Form. The FIBA Forms, if required can also be downloaded from this section. See NOTES within the application form for more information, as to requirements and form completion.


All clubs who are licensing players who were last licensed with a club not in your country, e.g. last played in Scotland now being licensed to play in England etc OR, last played for a club in the BNCL (Pro Leagues) then the GB Internal Transfer form should be completed. Two forms available Adult or Under 18.

The British National Championship Leagues (BNCL) have their own section covering, FIBA A or B Licensing and BBF Licensing applications.

The 25-26 season FIBA International Transfer & Clearance and BBNCL Licensing Forms, are expected to be open for applications as of Monday 7th July, 2025.
Confirmation of this date, along with the notice of publication of the updated BBF Operational Procedures, will be circulated to clubs via the Home Country.

Professional League Licence

Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA).

The UK Government has now completed the rollout of Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). This means that, all eligible nationals, who are visiting or transiting landside through the UK will require an Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA). The next key milestone will be the strict enforcement of ETA. The date for this strict enforcement is yet to be confirmed.
