British Basketball Federation Chair, Chris Grant steps down.

The British Basketball Federation (BBF) Chair, Chris Grant has made the decision to stand down from his role. Serving in the voluntary position, Grant has led the organisation through three transformative years and for personal reasons, has made the difficult decision to resign.
During his tenure, Grant has played a pivotal role in guiding the federation through a significant period of growth, collaboration, and reform. Under his leadership, British Basketball has raised standards of governance, strengthened its relationship with the Home Nations, and made meaningful progress towards creating a more sustainable and expansive future for the sport across Britain.
Grant’s commitment, vision and passion for the game have been instrumental in generating new opportunities, achieving key milestones for the Federation and laying the foundations for continued success for British basketball on and off the court.
Speaking on his decision, Chris Grant said:
It has been a privilege to serve as Chair of the British Basketball Federation and I am proud of the progress we have made over the last 3 years. I’m doing this for personal reasons, but I’ve also seen that the sport in this country is full of talent both on and off the court from the street to the international arena, and a new generation is ready to step up. Basketball is already the second most-played team sport in Britain and a global headline-maker. Its reach into every community and its natural connections with music and fashion should put basketball right up there when it comes to entertaining fans and delivering economic and social value for the country. This was not an easy decision, but now the foundations are in place it’s the right time for me to step aside and make room for new leadership to complete the transformation of British basketball into the vibrant, professionally-run mass-market powerhouse that it deserves to be.Chris Grant
