GB v Germany Squad confirmed
The 12-man squad for Great Britain’s rematch with Germany has been set.
There are no new faces in the 12 selected for Saturday’s game with the team leaning on the experience of their veteran core to secure qualification.
The 12-man squad is highlighted by an experienced core group of players who have committed to every window of this FIBA EuroBasket Qualifying round despite the ongoing adversity of the pandemic.
This special group of ever-presents includes Dan Clark, Ashley Hamilton, Myles Hesson, Dwayne Lautier-Ogunleye, Ben Mockford, Luke Nelson, Teddy Okereafor, and Gabe Olaseni.
GB go into the game versus Germany with momentum following a crucial 74-59 win over Montenegro in November.
The GB Men have won nine of their last 11 games with their only two losses coming on the road against sixth-in-the-world France and 26th-ranked Montenegro.
France lead Group G with a 3-1 record, while Great Britain and Montenegro are tied for second place. Importantly, GB own the head-to-head tiebreaker over Montenegro based on aggregate point difference.
Germany are currently in fourth place, but are automatic qualifiers as EuroBasket 2022 hosts. Great Britain must finish ahead of either France or Montenegro in order to qualify for next summer’s EuroBasket championship.
Qualification can be clinched on Saturday if GB beats Germany (4pm GMT tip), and Montenegro loses to France. GB face France in the final qualifier on Monday (4pm GMT).
Dan Clark (106 caps) will edge closer to catching all-time men’s cap winner Eric Boateng (116 caps) and is one offensive rebound away from tying Boateng for most career offensive rebounds (136).
