GB WOMEN AND MEN TO PLAY PARIS-BOUND TEAMS IN LONDON IN JULY
The Great Britain men’s and women’s senior teams will be part of a fantastic festival of basketball in London just a few days before the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.
Following December’s news that the USA men’s team will play two games at London’s O2 this summer, USA Basketball has announced that their Women’s National Team will play Germany at the same venue on 23 July as part of the 2024 USA Basketball Showcase.
Alongside this comes the exciting news that the GB men will play South Sudan on 18 July, with the GB women taking on Germany on 21 July, making this the biggest international basketball gathering in the country since 2012.

Chris Grant, Chair of GB Basketball, said: “We are delighted that USA Basketball selected London as their final stop before competing at the 2024 Olympics. How wonderful it is that our passionate fans will have the opportunity to get close to some of the best players in the world!
“Just as USA Basketball is passing through London on its way to Paris, our ambition is that four years from now our GB teams will be touching down in the USA on our way to Los Angeles 2028.”
The USA Basketball Showcase features a series of games that help USA Basketball national teams prepare for major competitions, including the FIBA World Cup and Olympic Games. The USA Men’s National Team will play South Sudan and Germany at O2 Arena on July 20 and July 22, respectively.
Hosted in partnership between USA Basketball and TEG Sport, the USA Women’s National Team’s matchup with Germany will mark the U.S. women’s first visit to London since winning the gold medal at the 2012 Olympics.
The USA women’s game against Germany will tip off at 8pm on 23 July. Tickets for this game will go on sale to the general public on Tuesday 16 April at 9am at www.usab.com/tickets and www.tegeurope.com/events/usab-showcase/
