Commentators confirmed for GB women’s clash with Sweden
The commentators have now been confirmed for the Great Britain women’s team game against Sweden which will be held in Manchester on Thursday 9 November.
First up is Siobhán Prior. Siobhán excelled in basketball from a young age, representing England at U14 and U16 levels. She made her senior debut at 16 in 2003 and played for Great Britain at U18 and U20, winning a bronze at the U20 Division B European Championships.
Siobhán had a successful 4-year stint at Loyola University Maryland, setting a record for the most three-pointers. Post-college, she won WBBL championships with Nottingham Wildcats. Her career highlight was winning a silver medal with England at the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games.
After retiring from playing, Siobhán went on to direct at Nottingham Wildcats Academy and works as a sideline analyst and commentator for WBBL and FIBA. Siobhán is passionate about coaching and is the head coach for Nottingham Academy Wildcats WEABL team, also serving as assistant coach for GB U18 women.
Working alongside Siobhán will be Caroline (Caz) Bullock. She has also worked on youth and senior finals, including National Cup, Junior Final Fours and the International U18 Four Nations Tournament.
Caz made her BBC commentary debut earlier in 2023, calling the GB women vs Portugal game in the FIBA EuroBasket 2023 Qualifiers. As a podcast co-host, lead writer and interviewer at FocusHoops, Caz spends much of her time talking or writing about basketball and you can also find her hitting mid-range jump shots on one of Manchester’s many courts.
