BRITISH BASKETBALL FEDERATION ANNOUNCES LAUNCH OF GBBASKETBALL.TV IN PARTNERSHIP WITH JOYMO
The British Basketball Federation are delighted to announce the launch of a ground-breaking new platform – GB Basketball TV.
Forming a brand-new partnership with Joymo to develop the platform, GB Basketball TV will bring the British Basketball community closer to our National Teams than ever before!
GB Basketball TV will provide an easy way for existing and new fans to access GB Basketball content, including live match streams, highlights and video features which fans can watch live and on demand.
The platform, accessible via gbbasketball.tv, will debut with live coverage of Women’s EuroBasket 2023 (June 15-25). Chema Buceta’s Women’s side will compete for glory in Slovenia and continue the dream of qualifying for the Paris 2024 Olympics.
GB Basketball TV will also be the only place to watch Great Britain U20s, U18s and U16s Junior National Teams this summer as the six men’s and women’s sides compete in the FIBA European Youth Championships.
The platform will be a subscription-based service offering fans flexibility to purchase pay-per-view; pay-per-competition or an All-Access pass for the whole Summer. This initiative will generate critically-needed funds for the development of GB Basketball, and the partnership includes a bonus payment to the Federation depending on the volume of subscribers.
Fans wanting to follow GB’s journey at Women’s EuroBasket 2023 can get a subscription to watch all GB games this summer for just £19.99 for a minimum of 45 games.*
Commenting on the launch of GB Basketball TV, Chris Grant, Chair of the British Basketball Federation, said:
“This is a very important milestone in the development of British Basketball. The launch of GB Basketball TV, and the provision of more opportunities to watch our amazing players compete at all levels, are key pillars in our strategy to put British Basketball where it should be.”
“Our partnership with Joymo creates a platform to deliver more coverage in an easily accessible way. Having a single online destination for all our content will enable us to demonstrate how popular our sport already is with British audiences; to include more people, and to give our fanbase more of what they want.”
Hannah Griffiths, VP Content Acquisition & Partnerships at Joymo, said:
“We are thrilled to be working with British Basketball to power their streaming ambitions and broader digital strategy. This new digital home of the sport can deliver to British Basketball’s most important stakeholders: fans, participants, and commercial partners.
“This is an alliance of great strategic importance for Joymo, showcasing the strength of our proposition as both a platform provider and rights acquisition partner,” she added.
The Federation is also delighted to confirm that Joymo will also become an Official Partner and title sponsor of the Senior Women’s National Team. Joymo will use the opportunity to promote GB Basketball TV, with the new brand logo set to appear on the jerseys of Coach Chema Buceta’s side during the Women’s EuroBasket 2023 tournament and the subsequent European Youth Championships.
