basketballscotland are now welcoming nominations for the role of Chairperson.
In advance of the 2021 AGM, the Board has now commenced a recruitment process to formalise the appointment of a Chairperson for a four-year term through an open process as outlined in our governing documents.
The Executive Board are charged with selecting one nominee for the position and recommending that this individual (the Executive Board’s Recommendation) be appointed at the 2021 AGM.
The Chairperson will be appointed for a four-year term of office.

The Chairperson role has a specific skill set, with the Executive Board’s final recommendation based on the applicant’s competency for the relevant role. The Job Description & Person Specification for the post can be downloaded from the undernoted links.
Applicants must complete and submit the Application Form together with a completed copy of the Equality Monitoring Form and their professional CV.
The deadline for receipt of applications is 4.00pm on Tuesday, 6 July 2021.
Applications should ideally be submitted electronically, but the facility to post them to basketballscotland does exist.
Short Listing and Interviews
After the closing date for applications, a Selection Panel will review the applications received, short-listing and inviting selected candidates for interview. It is anticipated that the interviews will be held in August 2021.
Following the interview stage, the Selection Panel will provide feedback to the Executive Board.
The Executive Board will then notify the membership of their recommendation prior to the 2021 AGM, which is scheduled to take place on Wednesday, 3 November 2021.
Applicants should note that candidates being recommended for ratification by the 2021 AGM will need to provide a Basic Disclosure certificate to basketballscotland, which has been processed by Disclosure Scotland (or equivalent). The certificate, which must be dated not more than six months prior to the date of the 2021 AGM, will contain details of any unspent convictions under The Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. The costs involved in obtaining the Basic Disclosure certificate will be met by basketballscotland.
