GB U18s 3×3 squads named

23rd July 2019

The Great Britain men’s and women’s teams for the Fiba 3×3 Under-18 Euope Cup qualifier have been confirmed.

The event will take place in Rieti, Italy on August 3 and 4.

The men, led by GB veteran Gareth Murray will play Spain, Serbia and the Netherlands in Pool B.

The women, led by Renee Busch, join Spain and Germany in Pool B.

Of his squad, Murray said: “The four young players that are representing GB at the 3×3 will have the opportunity to showcase their talent versus some of the best players in Europe.

“I hope this experience will help them with their future aspirations and fulfil their respective goals.

“All players wish to raise their profile and continue improving to take there game to another level. Opportunities like this are perfect for gaining experience and opening their eyes to the level of talent around the world.”

Busch said: “These four players are looking forward to the opportunity to represent GB and show what they can do. Three of them are coming off of the U18 European Championships in Skopje, Macedonia a couple weeks ago so they’ll be looking to build on the experience and learning from the tournament.

“For all four of them it’s a great opportunity to play an exciting new style of basketball against some of the best in Europe. I’m confident they’re ready to compete, improve and will make the most of the opportunity.”
