Pre-EuroBasket schedule for GB Women

7th June 2019

With less than three weeks until tip off in Riga, GB Women have a busy schedule ahead as they play six warm up games before FIBA Women’s EuroBasket on June 27th.

The squad flew out to Slovenia earlier this week and will play both their hosts Slovenia and Sweden over the next few days.

Following the first double-header it’s back to Manchester for another week of camp as they prepare for the arrival of Canada. The teams will meet twice, firstly in a closed-door game before heading to the Belle Vue Sports Village on Wednesday 19th June. Tickets for the game are available here.

Following on from the two games with Canada, Head Coach Chema Buceta and the squad will travel to Spain, where they again face Sweden before rounding off their FIBA Women’s EuroBasket preparations against Spain.

Upon completion of the fixtures, the team travel directly to Riga ahead of the tournament on June 27th. Despite the busy schedule, GB’s Stef Collins is looking forward to getting started:

“We’re really excited about the prep we have, some great tournaments and teams to play away as well as having a home game against Canada. It’s great to play them again after the Commonwealth Games and it’s extra special with Rachael’s (Vanderwal) 100th cap coming up, so it’ll be nice to recognise that to.”

Score updates, stat links and any available streams will be shared via GB Basketball’s social media channels.

Schedule

Slovenia – June 7th

Sweden – June 8th

Canada – June 18th

Canada – June 19th (tickets)
