U23 3X3 SQUADS NAMED FOR NATIONS LEAGUE

The Great Britain U23 3X3 squads have been announced ahead of the FIBA U23 3X3 Nations League 2024 later this month.

The men’s and women’s sides will travel to Szolnok, Hungary, for their tournament, taking place on July 29-31, with the conference winners from each stop qualifying for the FIBA 3X3 U23 World Cup, which will take place in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on September 11-15.

Men’s coach Afiz Olaniyan and women’s playcaller Sarah Hopkins-Chery are confident that having a talented group of players will lead them to the FIBA U23 3X3 World Cup later this month.

Great Britain U23 3X3 Men’s coach, Afiz Olaniyan, said: “Heading into the tournament, I am genuinely excited to be a part of this group.

“I believe that the team has a solid understanding of the concepts of 3×3 basketball, and I am confident that their skills will have a positive impact on our performance in this tournament.”

Great Britain U23 3X3 Women’s coach, Sarah Hopkins-Chery, said: “We’ve had a successful training camp with our U23 roster for the upcoming FIBA 3X3 Nations League. Many have also had the opportunity to benefit from some training with the senior roster earlier this summer, that collaboration is irreplaceable.

“The roster consists of a blend of experienced 3X3 players and promising newcomers, all enthusiastic about the upcoming competition and the opportunity to represent Great Britain.”
