Toeaina takes Molten WBBL MVP award for 2018-19
Sarah Toeaina has been crowned the Molten WBBL MVP for 2018-19 after a stellar first year in British Basketball at Wesfield Health Sheffield Hatters.
Her consistency has been incredible and she was the only player to reach double-digits in the number of weekly All-Star Five appearances, after racking up 10 of them through the campaign.
That underlines just what kind of major impact she has made in her rookie season, with her 20 points and 9.7 boards per game underpinning the success of Hatters in challenging for honours.
Indeed Toeaina received the WBBL Cup MVP gong back in January after inspiring her team to a famous and thrilling Final victory at Arena Birmingham.
Unstoppable at times, the University of Hawaii graduate drew more fouls than any other player in the league and has sunk a staggering 44 more free-throws than her nearest rival in that chart.
“Wow is all I can say,” declared the player.
“Sheffield welcomed me with open arms and have supported me since day one. Without them, my coaches and teammates, this wouldn’t have been possible.
“I am beyond blessed to play the sport I love across the world and for that, thank you to the WBBL for an amazing and competitive season,” added Toeaina.
