GB face Montenegro for a place in the quarter finals of FIBA’s Women’s EuroBasket after last night’s win over Ukraine secured 2nd place in Group A.
With the latter stages of this year’s tournament taking place in Belgrade, a flight to Serbia awaits the winners whilst the losers head home.
The opposition: Montenegro
Montenegro finished third in group B with a record of 1-2. They started their campaign with losses to Sweden (67-51) and France (53-88) before beating Czech Republic 70-57 yesterday to claim third and their place in tonight’s playoff.
Montenegro have been led by Glory Johnson so far, with the WNBA All-Star leading the way with both points per game (15.3) and rebounds (8.3). Bozica Mujovic leads the way in assists (5.3) whilst also shooting an average of 14 points in the tournament.
The last head-to-head between the sides saw Britain claim a 71-67 victory in February 2016.
