GB v Germany
EuroBasket 2028 Qualifier

INTRO
GB play Germany tomorrow in the first of our weekend double-header. With the end goal of securing a place at EuroBasket 2022, a win tomorrow night could be enough to punch our ticket if France overcome Montenegro in the group’s other game.
The opposition: Germany
Germany currently sit bottom of Group G with a record of 1/3, having lost three on the bounce after their opening round win over France.
Having already qualified as a host of next summer’s tournament, the Germans have named a fairly young squad. Captain Robin Benzing is the obvious exception, with the player set to make his 149th appearance for the national team tomorrow.
TEAM NEWS
Announced earlier this evening, GB’s final 12 will see two changes from our last game, with Ovie Soko and Gareth Murray both returning in place of Kareem Queeley and Akwasi Yeboah.
Speaking ahead of the game, Marc Steutel feels the mood in camp is largely excitement:
“The guys are looking forward to the game after a solid week of camp. We’re really proud of how the guys have been locked in, preparing for what we expect to be a battle – a really tough game against a good Germany side. We’re excited, we’re aware of the task at hand and we’re at the point now where we’re looking forward to the game. We’re locked in and we go from there.”
How to watch
Tomorrow’s game is live on FIBA’s YouTube channel in the UK. It’s also available to watch in the UK via livebasketball.tv. A pass for the February window – which covers both GB games over the weekend and games from other groups – is £8.49
