one change to 12-man roster for FIBA World Cup qualifier against latvia
Great Britain’s 12-man squad for the Sunday’s FIBA 2023 World Cup Qualifier against Latvia has been confirmed.
One change has been made from the 12-man roster that took to the court in Belgium on Thursday as Devon van Oostrum comes in for Mo Soluade.
The Men’s National Team have made history by qualifying for the second phase of FIBA World Cup qualifying for the first time ever, and are set to conclude their first window of the campaign in front of a capacity crowd at Newcastle’s Vertu Motors Arena on Sunday as they take on Latvia (6pm tip-off) in the second game of the window.
GB travelled to Mons, Belgium for the first game of the window and fell short against a stern Belgian side, but showed sustained spells of strong play that Nate Reinking and his staff will be looking to help the players extend into a more complete 40-minute performance on Sunday evening.
Dan Clark edges closer to securing the all-time Men’s record of 117 caps for Great Britain – a landmark which he is on course to reach at EuroBasket 2022 – whereas the inclusions of Myles Hesson, Ben Mockford, Gabe Olaseni and van Oostrum sees the quartet edge closer to their own half-centuries of caps for the team.
The full 12-man roster for the Latvia game can be found below. You can catch GB in action against Latvia at 6pm BST on Sunday 28 August, live on FIBA’s streaming service, Courtside 1891.
