MONTANANA NAMES NEW LOOK GB ROSTER FOR GERMANY CLASH

Great Britain women’s coach Anna Montañana has named a new-look roster ahead of Sunday’s Subway® Summer Slam clash against Germany at the CopperBox Arena in London.

 

Leading the fresh GB roster, whose average age is 23-years-old, is FIBA EuroCup Women’s champion Holly Winterburn, who, at 23 herself, will captain a side that features eight debutants at the senior level.

 

Amongst them are Teresa Da Silva, Katie Januszewska, Shauna Harrison, Faye Endean, Maya Price, Jessie Ford, Claire Paxton, and Louise Rouse, with most playing in the Great Britain junior set-up.

 

The aim is for these young players to get a taste of international basketball at the senior level with one eye on next month’s FIBA Women’s World Cup 2026 Qualifiers in Rwanda.

 

GB Women’s coach, Anna Montañana, said: “We are excited to play in London, but we need to look at this game as something that will help us grow and understand where we are right now.

 

“We have worked very hard in camp and I’m happy with the group that we have.”
