Combine to be held for GB U16 & U18 Youth Teams in January 2024

The British Basketball Federation, in collaboration with Basketball England, Basketball Scotland and Basketball Wales, is holding a combine on the 2 and 3 January 2024 at the National Basketball Performance Centre in Manchester.

The event will be for prospective players for the Great Britain Men’s and Women’s Under-16 and Under-18 squads who are working towards participating at the FIBA European Championships 2024.

At the combine, players will be assessed in a range of areas and the coaching teams will put them through their paces on the court.

Following the combine, players will be selected to be in the squads for the four age group teams and will attend training camps and preparation games across the year, before the final team represents Great Britain at the FIBA European Championships in the summer of 2024.

Players who have been selected to attend the combine will receive an invitation via email over the coming weeks.

Fiona Pimblett, Consultant Performance Lead for the British Basketball Federation, said: “We’re really looking forward to inviting players to take part in this combine in the New Year. It will be a brilliant opportunity for us to bring together our promising young British talent as we kick off our preparation for the 2024 youth international season.

“We’ve been making progress on our planning for this event, so we want to ensure that players and their parents and guardians are aware that invitations will be sent very soon. It’s important that they read this information carefully and promptly respond, in order to guarantee a place at the combine.”

Trials for the U20 Men’s and Women’s squads will take place later in the year and more information for these age groups will be shared soon.
