3×3 Men’s and Women’s squads unveiled FOR Europe Cup qualifying tournament
GB Basketball has named the six men and six women that have been included in the squads selected for the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup qualifiers which will take place in Bucharest on Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 June.
The 3×3 squads currently include the players listed below. The first four players on each list will be travelling to Romania but two reserve players, who have played a major role in the recent tournament preparations, have also been named.

All of the players have recently been put through their paces at training camps as Martin Dyan, GB 3×3 Consultant Programme Manager, explained: “The squads have been working hard ahead of this weekend’s qualifiers. They’re confident and looking strong. It’s the first test of our 3×3 campaign this summer and we’re excited to be competing on the world stage.”
The groups for this weekend’s event have now been confirmed with the women drawn in pool B and set to face Latvia, Georgia and the hosts Romania, with all three games taking place on 15 June.
The men’s GB team is in pool A and will also face Latvia and Romania on 15 June, with their final pool game against Slovenia on Sunday 16 June.
The winning teams this weekend will qualify to take part in the FIBA 3×3 Europe Cup which will be held in the Austrian capital of Vienna from 22 to 25 August.
The full coaching and support teams who will accompany the GB Basketball teams this weekend have also now been confirmed. Krumesh Patel will be head coach for the women’s team with Julius Joseph taking up the same role for the men’s team. Joining them will be Jordan Godfrey (Strength and Conditioning), Toby Welch (Physio) and Assistant Coach, Afiz Olaniyan. As 3×3 Programme Manager for GB Basketball, Martin Dyan will also be travelling to support the squads.
It’s going to be an incredibly exciting and busy summer for GB Basketball which is also set to include the FIBA U23 3×3 Nations league and various GB youth teams taking part in FIBA EuroBasket competitions across the continent, as well as the Subway Summer Slam. The latter will see the 5×5 men’s and women’s team playing games against South Sudan and Germany at the Copper Box on 18 and 21 July.
